A History of Management at the Bernabéu
Real Madrid has had a long and illustrious history, and a big part of that history has been the club's managers. As of the start of the 2018-19 season, Real Madrid have had 40 full-time managers, including some of the biggest names in the game. The first full-time manager for Real Madrid was Arthur Johnson, who was appointed in 1910.
Some of the most successful managers in Real Madrid's history include Miguel Muñoz, who won nine La Liga titles and two European Cups in the 1950s and 1960s, and Zinedine Zidane, who won three consecutive Champions League titles from 2016 to 2018.
Real Madrid's current manager is Carlo Ancelotti, who was appointed in 2021. Ancelotti has a wealth of experience at the highest level, having managed some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including AC Milan, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich.
